What a run! Clinton county has to be ecstatic. Listening to the local "rumor mill" I agree it would be nice to see "Rumblin' Bumblin'" Billy Fairchild in a local college uniform. However, I'm not sure UC is the best fit. The Big East is down and isn't as competitive as it once was.

Now while I'm a bit biased, I could see Billy taking a gamble and heading to Lexington if he wants to play somewhere near home in the powerhouse of all football conferences...the SEC. Ohio St would also be an obvious choice but the Big "11" 10 is no where near what it once was. Also, going somewhere like Kentucky would allow Billy to showcase his talents and put that team on his back!

If he's looking to get away from home though, I could see a few other SEC powerhouse's taking a run at him, like Florida or LSU. Maybe even Alabama.

Just another predictable performance by Fairchild. It should be very interesting to hear what he has to say about the schools knocking at his door. I personally feel he should take a stand and play for a team looking for a break like the Cincinnati Bearcats, but he does have his career to look too and I can't blame him for taking a starting job at one of the better higher ranked colleges in the nation.
